Hello Volks,

I am in need of some help, finding an accessory for our 1978 VW van, which might lend it's self to our 1987 Westy too.

6 months ago, I found a web site that sold hand made cloth covers, which draped over the rear hatch (when it's open) of older, round VW's. The cloth covered each side and the very rear of the van, draped over the top and extended down to the ground. There was plastic sewn into the top, the same size as the VW window to make a sky light and allow natural light in.

I believe the photo I saw was red and white vertical stripes. It was advertised a rear room, extra changing room, privacy room or shower. It essentially enclosed the space below the rear hatch into a room.

I did not bookmark the site ... and can't remember where or how I came across it.

A couple of questions.

1. has anyone heard of or seen this accessory? (granted they model shown was a 1973 bus, not a vanagon)

2. Would any one know if one is made for a Vanagon? We'd like one for each of our vans (1978 & 87 campers)

I'd love to know where I can find one for sale ... or, even just to see this one again ... so we can sew our own together using the photo as a guide.
