Over the past eight years I have removed about six of the complete fresh
air distribution blower boxes and a couple of Waser boxer heater / fresh
air boxes.
After a few attempts to revive blower motors I started just giving them a
good thump with a rubber hammer and they started and ran fine.
On my own Westy there was often a delay for the blower to start so I used
the Kentucky method of removing the ashtray and placing a short 2x4
against the plastic housing that holds the blower ........... with a few
bumps with my rubber hammer it shook enough dust loose that the blower
starts and runs silently now. It eliminated the delay on startup and the
noise from the blower motor.
I considered this as a last resort before getting serious and removing
the blower.
This might not be a fix but it might get you through another season or
two.
I agree with Rodgers about the relay but I've never had a switch to fail
so its something that I was not forced to consider.
