I guess this means that in NZ they use that wonderful, French inspired metric system. This was designed for places where people can't do simple base 12 conversions. Did you know that Pi is not a repeating decimal in base 12? The real solution to the problem would have been for the world to switch from the silly base 10 number system to the much more logical base 12. Instead, the French convinced everyone (well, except us in the USA) to switch to a base 10 system of measurement instead. Too bad, but it is probably too late to get it right now.
