After much testing, buying of new parts (spending lots of money), sweat and elbow grease, thinking about how it things work, tinkering, adjusting, and talking have finished the WBX project! Now to the dyno... The engine has always made good power but was still missing something... I have determined that along with most of the FI parts being out of whack, that the culprit has been the Adjustable fuel pressure regulator that was holding me back. The VW part limits the low end PSI to 29 where the Adjustable part would allow it to drop to 19 PSI before I punched holes in one diaphragm then 22 PSI. The low PSI affected the power. When I put the VW part in, it ran a lot stronger throughout the entire RPM range. I had put the VW part in earlier but due to other FI parts being faulty, it did not seem to matter. After replacing most FI parts and adjusting left and right, I helped friend fix his faulty fuel pressure regulator and saw how the factory regulator worked and realized that I needed to go back to factory... As soon as I locate a dyno, there is one in Charlotte, closer to home I will have some numbers out.
