When i go to Santa Monica i just slow down and drive at or below speed limit.
This way i will stop if light turns to yellow. In my area i drive faster so that i know
for sure that i will cross intersection while yellow is on even if i see yellow before
entering intersection, there is plenty of time before red lights comes.
There is just one thing that irritates me(well there are more) and that is timing of
green lights. It is just silly to get green light, drive 200 yards to next light and get red light.
Keep going like that all the time. Lots of stops, idling, pollution etc.
Main streets should have green lights coordinated so that lights will keep turning
green at such intervals that at legal speed limit one can keep driving and always get green light.
Can't recall where i saw it but in some cities there are displays that tell you the speed you
need to drive to get green light at next intersection. This keeps traffic moving instead of
idling at every light.
