Nothing is new. I think that someone already mentioned that back in the day, (Joel & I remember well) GM auto levers were in the dash on Corvairs and Tempests for sure. And back then, good ol' Chrysler Corporation had auto push buttons located on the left side of the dash by the A pillar.
