I try not to stick my nose into Waser Boxer trouble shooting but it sounds like you could have a stopped up or empty catalytic converter. If the catalytic converter has dumped its ceramic contents they could be in your muffler causing a blockage. I base this assumption on the fact that your engine is choking down (Loss of power) and the engine isn't extremely hot. Another symptom of this condition would be very hard starting and run-on after you turned the ignition off making your gas engine into a diesel by pre combustion.
