I've replace a few of those crummy ATE clutch master cylinders, they seem to go K-put at the first onset of cold weather. To remove brake fluid from carpet pour a quart of regular rubbing alcohol on the carpet, be generous 2 for a buck on sale. Put newspapers under the carpet to catch the juice. Repeat the process after the carpet is dry. I actually just went to the car wash and blasted mine clean with rinse water. When it quits foaming, its clean.
