Jeff, try this first. Open the black box at the front of the engine compartment toward the driver's side. In it is a threaded metal stud with some red wires attached to it. Check for +12 volts on this stud. It should have +12 volts at all times. There is a common failure of these wires as they are undersized for the apparent load.

Then check for +12 volts at the ignition coil, on the terminal with the black wires. This should have +12 whenever the key is on, especially during cranking of the starter. Check for +12 present during both conditions.
