I just don't like the idea of not getting cited immediately. This
happened (according to the ticket) on
November 11th.

It it Brazil or 1984 ? .................. big brother is watching when
you cash your paycheck and when you log onto the Internet.
I consider myself a rather benign citizen and follow all of the rules all
of the time, however I also got a citation.
It came about as a result of Texas license stickers on the windshield
replacing the gummed stickers on the license plates.
A set of three year old plates on a car I sold in 2000 has been recycled
and the plates was still registered to me at my current address.
I sent a copy of the bill of sale and a letter of explanation to the
court clerk after I discussed the situation with her.
Just as future security against such things I'll get a copy of the buyers
drivers license, insurance, correct address, phone number and of course
the license number and VIN number of the vehicle I'm selling.
With a County Tax office only ten blocks away I would have accompanied
the buyer to the tax office had it not been a Saturday and he stated that
he was a Licensed Auto Dealer.
With computers and video along with tail pipe sniffers at toll booths it
has become a very impersonal law enforcement scenario.
Makes me want to plumb my tail pipe up to about six feet at the corner of
my van. It will probably help when I'm on the run from the law and I have
to ford a few rivers in my getaway.
