There is an intersection in Dallas Area, Preston Road and Plano Road
where they installed the Video Red light Monitoring Cameras. The cameras
triggered only when they saw motion in the intersection while the light
for that direction of travel was stopped.
In the first week of operation the $125,000.00 equipment failed because
there were so many red light runners that the camera quit at about 2,000
offenders. That was somewhere about 10 am in the morning each day.
They simply didn't have sufficient capacity of recording tape to run all
day.
This is true, it is a real situation, I didn't make it up.
The $250,000 equipment that replaced it works just great.
Isn't it a wonder that so many people say screw you to the law.
I notice everyday that everybody's trip is more important than mine.
I was tailgated so close last night that I couldn't see the guys
headlights in my rear view mirror ........... that fool must have been
two feet from my bumper for two miles and had every opportunity to pass
on a three lane boulevard at 10 PM.
Defensive driving is the most important education you can get especially
when 75% of the vehicles in Texas have hand guns in them.
