With an '85 you *should* have a Digijet, and the idle stabilizer is a little green or black box plugged into the circuit between the distributor and the ignition module. Physically it's mounted on the wall near the coil. It works by altering the ignition timing. With ignition off, remove it (two squeeze plugs, one easy and one hard) and plug the wires into each other. If your situation improves, bad idle stab. unit, replace (not very costly, unlike the 2.1 arrangement). david
