Marc, I had a lot of idle problems with my 88 GL with the 2.1L WBX.
Found that the crankcase breather vent hose - right on top of the engine
- was rotted. It was not obvious just looking at it, but when I grabed
hold of it it just came apart in my hands. it had rotted on the bottom
where the oil is mostly. i got a shor piece of radiator hose to go
there. It has worked fine. radiator hose won't last for ever, so I know
I have to change it out for an oil resitant hose.
Hope this helps.
