Yes, need a better flying club!!!!!!!!! (ATL)
1st- engine pistons failure - summer 2000 - forced landing practice with one
friend, engine still working with 3 pistons - 50% power. Safe landing in a
farmer field (pale green = short grass, my ass!!!!). 1 passenger scared to
death :-)
2nd- Carb icing - spring 2001 - carb heat is dead - lower altitude, no
result - 30% power - forced landing on remote unused freeway/route - wait
3 hours, take off from freeway :-) (2 passengers scared to death, me
too!!!!) (Don’t tell anyone!)
3rd- Electrical / engine /ignition problem, small fire, (Arrows-low wing)
shut down everything including Master switch on final, no Flap, landing
speed well over 90knot, hard landing in the only open field 100 miles
around, blown tire on landing. Took 1 month to get the plane out of there.
Scared like hell, was alone and thought I would die for a second.
Want some more!!!
A final one!
Montreal – Quebec city flight (winter), nice day. ETA 1.5hrs, arrive at
Quebec city airport, don’t see shi*, am VFR (Visual flight regulation), no
IFR instrument, Quebec tower tell me to go back to Montreal, I tell him to
go to hell! I don’t have enough fuel!!! (put transponder ON, it was
OFF!!!!)Tower guy guide me trough cloud (Special VFR), I don’t see 2 inch in
front of me, heavy wind, wind gust over 40knot, scared like hell (only 120
hours at this time) he tell me that only 1 runway in operation, I don’t see
the damn airport!!!!! He reply, you will see it soon, I wanna die (Small
Cessna shake like hell)! Suddenly I see clear blue sky!!!!!!!!! No wind,
every thing back to normal?$&/$%&/?& Well, not everything! He said to hurry
because a L1011 (big plane) is coming 2nd after me, sweating start again, I
do one of my worse landing, but a short one, barely have the time to reach
the first taxi way that I hear that bif GRRRRRR sound of a the big L1011 3
engine monster 100 feet from me, the little Cessna jump in the air a few
inches, I cry for my mom!
Well, that all Volks, is it Friday!!! Oupppsss, sorry.
Ciao, Ben
