I just purchased an OEM fog light switch (p/n 251 941 535) from Bus Depot. I plan to use this to control a set of Hella 500's (which I will hopefully be getting for Xmas). I have looked around the archives a bit and would like to confirm what I have sorted out and ask one additional question. All of these connections assume wiring direct from the battery using 10GA wire to a fuse block and the relay that comes with the Hella 500's. I chose to wire them this way so I can switch them on totally independent of the headlight circuit. Connector tab marked (+) - 12V in from battery. Connector tab marked (83a) - Output to front (primary) fog lights. Connector tab marked (83b) - Output to rear (secondary) fog lights (also turns on indicator light) I am planning to connect my lights to (83b) so I will have the indicator light as a reminder (it's there, might as well use it). The post that holds the indicator bulb has 2 connectors on it. Am I safe to assume that I need to wire the tab further out on the post to a good metal ground? Should I install the Hella relay closer to the switch, or closer to the lights (or does it even matter)? Man, I hope Santa comes thru with the lights for me...
