Its not a point worth arguing about but if the fridge runs for 72 hours I'd think it had to build some measurable heat in there. I stated the patch I'd use. As far as flat gaskets you can get Mr Gasket material in flat sheet at FLAPS designed for exhaust gaskets that would be sufficient for high heat.
