Nope. They're meant for continuous duty.

The only moving part in the whole device is the thermostat mechanism.* The burner orifice may get dirty. The burner should be cleaned occasionally. You may eventually burn out the thermocouple. Probably the most frequent difficulty is leaks in the sealed combustion system, causing the flame to blow out on the road. These fridges are sometimes cranky to light and have extremely limited cooling capacity, but are pretty reliable. I ran mine for 3-4 years continuously once...

*I lied -- the fan in back will wear out and need replacement.
