I went to Maaco for a dent fix and paint job, and my bus came out beautiful. They really took their time and did everything right. The paint job came out awsome. I was surprised actually, expecting it to look bad, but it didn't. The only thing was that they slacked on some of the details, like around the door handles and other little crevices that shouldn't have paint on them. But to be honest, unless you were looking like me, it's not too noticeable..........................I had picked a VW color : cosmic green metallic.........looks kinda like the Mystery Machine color..............

I guess the Macco jobs always depend on what kind of workers they have their.......I caught the right ones.........thankfully :-) have fun, Tracy 85' GL "Ripple" SD Kraning <PopTop88@CHARTER.NET> wrote:Happy Holidays, one and all!

I would like to have my '90 Carat repainted in the next 6 months or so. I don't plan to enter her into any contests or anything, but since she is in otherwise very fine shape, I think I owe her at least a level of quality paint job befitting such a well-preserved bus.

Would anyone be able to recommend the best type of paint process for the money? I have a feeling a Maaco job won't cut it. The factory paint color is "Orley blue" which has this really wonderful irredescent tone that I would like to have replicated. I would assume it came with a clear coat - is this necessary to achieve the best finish?

thanks,

Scott K.
