Hi Jay,

I should point out to you and others in the USA that a T4 Syncro has been available in the European market for some years now. So yes, you were correct to say that the rear suspension of the T4 (USA: Eurovan) was designed with AWD in mind.

I am considering a used Eurovan Syncro as a replacement for my Vanagon.

Best regards,

Tony

I remember looking at the new Eurovan a few years back (10 yrs. ago?) at the Philadelphia Car Show. The rear suspension looked like Vanagon trailing arms, coil springs, etc. Wouldn't be too hard to throw a rear engine set up in there. I assumed they left it this way for cost reasons, or possibly AWD down the road.

Jay
