I hate it when I get sniped too, but those are the rules of the game.

After some rookie mistakes I graduallty became an eBay sniper too. If it is something I REALLY want I don't bid until it is the last seconds of the auction.

I used to bid early on auctions until I found I had been outbid by the same person on a number of auctions. It was another VW nut (non listee as far as I know). Who HAD to have been watching what I was bidding on and going after it.

I started sniping just to keep this guy off my back. I figure if you can't beat them join them, my sniping is just playing to win.

I have come to embrace it as a very effective strategy. Sometimes I win, sometimes I get outbid, and sometimes people "double snipe" me, but I feel better about getting sniped myself, knowing that I too am a sniper.

Thanks, Chris
