We have an 82 air-cooled Vanagon with a Type DK Trans. The shift rod is supported at the Trans on the passenger side by the guide bolt, which is secured to the trans by a 19mm hex nut & washer. This trans is also identified in the Bentley Manuals as Type 091, 4 speed. Its shifter cones out of the trans on the drivers side and connects differently. Also there is a rubber boot over the guide bolt & shift rod to keep out road crud. Hope this is clear. Got top run, will check the list this evening. Don
