For those of you who have '83-85 Vanagon's using the single wire O2 sensor I believe the three wire sensor used on '86-92 models would be a nice upgrade. The three wire sensor has two additional 12V heater connections which reduce warm up time and allow system to go "closed loop" faster. You would need to power these leads off a switched power sporce in the engine compartment.


I found my 84 vanagons took a long time to warm up.
