I agree that 10-30 is marginal, unless you are constantly driving in very cold temperatures. My solution for a climate that seldom gets below 0 F but can be over 100 F in the summer is to run 20-50 in the warm months, and 15-40 in the winter.

It's not going to thin out as much as 10-30, but it enough thinner than 20-50 when cold to make it easier to start the engine.
