Hi Dave,

The emergency flasher relay is indeed also the turn signal relay, but keep in mind the wiring for the turn signals goes through the emergency flasher switch as well. What I'm getting at is the switch going bad could be the problem. If it were me I'd check to see if I was getting enough current coming out of the emergency flasher switch to lights, if any, when the turn signal switch is activated. The current comes from the fusebox, through the flasher switch, through the flasher relay, through the flasher switch again, through the turn signal switch, then the relay again then to the lights so you can see how a bad switch could easily cause the problem.
