Last Vanagon I smogged needed a gas cap to pass. The smog station had a non-locking American style ugly chrome unit that fit perfect, cost $15. Of course I put my locking OEM unit back on as soon as I got home.

Cheers,

Jeff

I am looking for a non-locking gas cap for my 87 Westy and the dealer is telling me that the OE unit is a locking cap. Will any older Type II caps work on the Vanagon? I would appreciate knowing a vendor who may have an inexpensive cap or two. I plan to lose one someday. Thanks Ed Bass Indianapolis In edward.bass@gm.com
