I'm not a chemist but I'd think two cups in a gallon of water when you hand scrub the interior of the tank. Run your pump to sanitize your lines and then do a clean water flush of the tank and pump some through the lines. One advantage of vinegar over chlorine is that it also removes water scale (calcium) from the tank. Unless you actually have mold or calcium build up I doubt that you would need to do this more than once a year. Don't get too radical cleaning the water level sensor screws, that old 20 year old rubber seal is fragile.
