Subject: leaking head gasket?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

For xmas I received a coolant leak at the head on the left side of my '86 2.1 Westie. I took the lower tin that hides the push rod tubes down to take a close look for the source of the leak. The leak appears almost immediately {hot or cold}when running the engine at the gasket in the center of the engine where the head joins the engine However, I think but unsure that the leak is migrating either from 1} further back along the gasket at the site of the fourth piston or 2} an expansion plug ? (wishful thinking} between the two rearmost push rod tubes, again at the fourth piston. Any information on how to resolve this puzzle and solutions to repairing the leak would be gratefully appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Alex
