In anticipation of adding the ratio rockers that were a group purchase
ages ago, I installed a set of aluminum valve covers from Gene Berg.
I was told that these were needed to provide additional clearance for
the new rocker arms. Unfortunately they leak like crazy!
I can tell one problem may be that the bails provided with the new valve
covers barely put much pressure compared to the stock ones.


Has anyone else tried these? What is the secret to keeping them from
leaking?
It was nice of VW to place the exhaust directly below the left valve
cover so that you can determine if they are leaking simply by smelling
the burning oil as you drive down the road.
