Aha! Kragens auto. I now know where the PO bought the less than year old
battery I have that refuses a charge. Without a receipt and no Kragens here
in Texas Exide told me I was OOL.
I found the Champion brand at Sam's Wholesale. Nice type 41 for $45.00 and a
sealed spiral cell for $94.00. I think this is the same battery that you saw
at Kragens. Handle was nice. The models they have are about 8". I think this
will work since I am considering placing the 2nd battery in the hidden
compartment rather than under the driver's seat.
Of course the Champion battery had a very familiar sounding 800 start it
roadside assistance number. Guess I will be buying another Exide after all.
I need to learn to never say never. At least within earshot of my wife.
