Does anybody else use a Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) for Vanagon diagnostics? I thought it might be interesting and useful to compile a library of Vanagon waveforms: - Ignition - Starter current draw, cylinder balance - Fuel pump, rpm etc. - Idle bypass valve - Alternator - Fuel injectors DSOs have been used in automotive diagnostics for almost ten years now, so there may already be a good collection of vanagon waveforms in the "pay for access" libraries. The DSO can be a very powerful tool for quickly finding drivability problems. Or it could be that I'm just trying to find uses for my Fluke Scopemeter :) Gary Lee http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/rack/vanagonrack.htm |
