Keezer da Wheezer sed: > Should the AIRS name now have to be changed to L.A.I.R.S? > Liquid/Air Cooled Interstate Rescue Squad? nah. AIRS = AQUA-cooled Intrepid Rampant Sillies! :) > And the Vanagon.COM list is that representation, isn't it?(8 years of > Water-cooled Vanagons) actually, the vanagon list started out as the mailing list for all vw buses ... from the early aircools to the latest watercools, including the eurovan. the list started in the spring of 1994 and a couple of years later, the aircools decided to split off into their own list (so they didn't have to listen to all the head gasket leak stories!). then they split into the type2 list (sort of more-or-less 68-79 buses, but some split windows still hang around. and some 80-83 aircooled vanagons are on there, too) and the vintagebus list (only the pre-68 split-windows buses). so that leaves the vanagon list with mostly watercooled vanagons and a few eurovans. but there are quite a few 80-83 aircooled vanagons still on this list. > I think L.A.I.R.S. has a nice ring to it. > What do you think? as in "whatcha driving these days?" "a rolling lair". :) or should it be LIARS?? nah, that's for fishermen and deer hunters. ;) joel |
