Myron, what you can do is use the now unused power feed wire to that relay that is coming from the main fuse panel. Disconnect it from its terminal and then find the power input of the number three fuse which is for cabin power, radio and cig. lighter receptacle. Cut and splice this to the wire going back to the relay. Connect the end that was connected to the relay to your aux battery and viola you now have your cabin lights, radio and cig lighter receptacle on the aux battery power. For turning the radio off, yes you could use a remote switch. Better solution is change out the radio for one with a remote control. I'm just now installing a Jensen MP3510 which has a remote control. My original VW radio/cassette had a remote control but the cassette mechanism stripped a gear and I have had no success in finding a repair part so I decided to upgrade to a CD/MP3 unit with aux input for a tape deck.
