Just wire a switch into the electric fuel pump!

The recent spate of posts about stolen vehicles has gotten me to thinking (dangerous territory), has anyone ever thought about and/or tried to install a remote controlled solenoid actuated fuel shutoff valve. I envision something that would operate much like the remote locking system on a car. Except the solinoid would actuate a fuel valve, shutting off or opening the valve as required. The added hassle of trying to figure out how to get the thing to go would discourage most thieves, as they typically want to get in, hot wire, and get gone quickly. Any delay and they could get caught. No fuel is a definite delaying tactic.

Just a thought.
