Van people:

Some thoughts for a list of VW van owners across the country.

I have been riding BMW motorcycles for over 40 years back and forth across this country, Canada and Europe. Like VW van owner BMW riders are a special group that stick together and try to help and aid each other in times of distress. There are two national BMW motorcycle clubs, one puts out a list called BMW Riders Anonymous , it contains no names only telephone numbers of those people ALL OVER THE WORLD ( 30 or 40 countries )who are willing to help each with towing help, mechanical help, temporary storage or any thing else in times of need with a break down.. The list is compiled afabeticly by State then City and tells the reader how many miles that person who is willing to give aid is located from most large Cities. It also has codes for what service the helper is willing to perform. For example, A. means tools are available, B. tools and mechanical help, C. temporary storage, D. parking space, D. towing aid. E. coffee and good conversation..............

The list works, I have used it both ways, needing help and giving it. I think the VW van list would only be necessary in the US Canada but available to all listees.......

The list also has printed VW mechanics, VW dealership locations and phone numbers laws, campgrounds etc.etc. Any information that can be helpful could be printed.

If anyone has the interest in building this list I would be happy to assist and provide a copy of the BMW Owners Anonymous for a sample. It would be a big job but small fee could be charged for the list and it could be of great service while traveling. I personally do not see any harm in also putting the names of everyone along with the phone numbers.

Feed back wanted. Clarence. 1990 multi. pinehurst, nc
