Sorry to beat this to death, but here is some more information:

If interested, one might try and do a vanagon archive search ( http://gerry.vanagon.com/archives/vanagon.html ) for Labrador for May 01. There is a VERY GOOD posting by Larry Innes <linnes@innu.ca> (subject: trip report - Victoria BC to Labrador) that chronicles his trip from Baie-Comeau north to Goose Bay. His posting is: http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi- bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0105C&L=vanagon&P=R24105

Also there was a discussion (subject: July on Newfoundland ) in February of 02 that might be worth reading. The first posting is: http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi- bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0202D&L=vanagon&P=R18460

OK, that's all for today, promise. Malcolm
