Subject: Throttle Valve Switch Problems
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Anyone out there today with an 85 Digijet? You'll recall I shorted the pins on the plug for the idle switch and burned some insulation off my wiring. Today I'm wondering if I might not have swapped the idle switch plug with the plug for the aux air regulator. If I shorted that latter one out, it would make sparks for sure.

There are two sets of wire pairs coming out of the same sheath. Two with no sheath are plugged into the aux air regulator, then the other two have a short insulating sheath over them and were plugged into the throttle switch jack. Can you look at your car and tell me if I have them reversed? Unfortunately, the wires are all a uniform "cream" color, so I can't check color code with Bentley.

If these are in fact reversed, it would explain my idle problems (I think). And it's a blessing that my throttle valve switch doesn't close or I would have toasted the insulation long ago!

Thanks for your help.
