Dave,

I don't think I fully understand what happened here. Are you talking about the wires between the plug and the switch? If you jumpered the switch side pins nothing should have happened because there is no power source on that side. If you plugged into a similar plug (auxiliary air valve?) the wires may have gotten more than their prescribed 5 volts.

I can remember trying to test the aux air plug by mistake when I meant to check the throttle switch but I never managed to get the two together.
