I think it's great that you are willing to dontate your time to make contacts
easier. I think your plan is in the spirit of the list where one helps the
other and so on, and generous at that.
With that in mind please consider my comments notes on safety, and not an
attempt to squash the idea. My fear would be a list available on the internet
with names and addresses connected with the Vanagon list becoming a tool for
the forces of evil.
For example: "I'm heading out today for my three week vacation to Trenton,
NJ! Loading up the whole family! The heads are already leaking! Wish me luck!

So the internet world has access to the Vanagon list, then some hoolagan
looks up Jon Q. and sees and sees Jon lives at #1 Main Street in Sarasota.
And now the ne'er do well knows Jon is out of town for 3 long weeks which the
ne'er do well uses to liberate Jon of his electronics, tools, and collection
of VW TRENDS all now for sale on e-bay.
Or my fear would be someone writing "just got my bus back from VW Dealer
where they did excellent work installing a brand new VW engine and trans on
my 91 Westfalia with a total of 30,000 mile that I park out front. I just had
it appraised at $45,000. See you at the Litchfield show next month.

Joe you will see lives at #4 Main Street in Paris, TX. Next month he drives
his Oldsmobile Cutlass to the Litchfield show. This because he has been
liberated of his bus, which unbeknowest to him is cruising Argentina with one
of those hoods from America's Most Wanted at the wheel.
Now, I'll admit I lived in NYC for a while and now in LA, so I may have to
constantly think of ways to avoid crime just to get through the day. Maybe
this is not a concern for those in all places.
But names and addresses on the internet could start a chain of identity fraud
or what have you.
Sorry to be so negative, but the world, she ain't what she used to be.
I just throw it out as food for thought, and of course suggest caution.
Thnaks for letting me get it off my chest so I can get back to making sure
the doors on my house are still locked and the dog has not been kidnapped.
