Subject: 85 Westy - Throttle Valve Switch??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

My '85 westy does not have a throttle valve switch (TVS) or control unit (CU) on "top" of the throttle body. So, I understand that there should be a single (combined) switch "under" the throttle body. Is that right?

Yesterday, I got a multimeter and put it across the obvious connector (throttle side of connection) that leads to the underside of the throttle body. My guess is that it leads to the elusive combined switch. The resistance was about 5-ohms when the throttle was in the idle position, and had infinite resistance when the throttle was open.

Am I right to assume this is the TPS connector?. Do these resistance readings suggest a TPS replacement is required?

Many Thanks.
