I've been contending all along that my rough idle was the result of something I did when I reassembled the engine after repairing the right head. Sure 'nuf! As you may recall, I fried some wiring when jumpering what I thought was the plug for the idle switch. As it turns out, I had transposed the plug for the idle switch with that for the aux air heater element. So no wonder the wiring fried when I shorted it out! Good thing my idle switch was bad, or the wiring may have fried and started a fire while I was driving it. I'm sure I labeled the plugs before I removed them and restored them to their original position, so it may be that the blame can be placed on the PO or his mechanic. (First law of trouble shooting: find someone else to pin the blame on.) I wouldn't have realized my mistake if I hadn't stripped the wires back and observed the color codes.
