Volks, Had some wear on the left front tire. Took it in to the recommended shop and had it aligned. Drove straight but the turning circle right was different from turning circle left and the left was much larger than it had been. Took it back. The tie rod end was found to be entirely out [i.e. All the threads were exposed] on the right and was completely in on the right. I had just changed out the right tie rod [not the end only, the whole rod] so I think thatıs the way it came. They realigned it [yes it needed it even though they had just done it the day before]. Got the tie rod ends a little more even but the steering wheel was no longer pointed straight when the wheels were straight and there was a quarter turn difference in the number of turns from dead center to full lock from the right to left sides. They're stumped right now. The shop's most experienced guy is out on jury duty and they're waiting for him to come back.
