I took the easy way out on my '82 diesel. I bought a three-gauge bracket and mounted it "upside-down" on top of my dash cover. I used a multiconductor plug from Radio Shack on the cable, so I can still remove the cover completely if I want to. I used 1" wide fender washers to spread out the stress on the plastic. It seems very sturdy. I admit this isn't the best looking arrangement, though it could be improved by using gauge cups so the backs of the gauges don't show through the windshield. I don't mind that, personally, and I like that I don't have to take my eyes far off the road to look at the gauges. _ _ __ _ _ _| | | | David M.
