Pat and list- I swapped coil on the '91 and the engine started for the first time in 3 days. I switched back to the old coil and it would barely run.

After the engine warmed up on the new coil, the idle wasn't as steady as it had been before. I switched to a spare idle stabilizer valve that did'nt buzz loudly like the one that came with the van- now the engine idles and runs perfect.

How amazing is that for us to solve these problems both on the same day?

Also, I replaced the worn-out clutch pedal- now the trans shifts without grinding.

The shop Reborn Automotive replaced the rr wheel bearings and seals in '99. Or so they said and charged the PO for it.

In 2002 they wrote down that these bearings were bad and needed replacing. How fishy does that sound?

The PO was with them ten years- I have found all kinds of misdiagnosed things in the maintenance records by them. For example- they said all the cv axles and joints needed replacing becuase of some torn boots.

I took them all apart and regreased them- I have never seen CV's in in such good condition considering their mileage.

They also told him he needed a new trans, when he really needed a throw-out bearing and clutch pedal.

The pedal wore out from trying to make a frozen T.O. bearing work the clutch.
