Snug up the locknut, grab the shaft with a basin wrench and tighten, this will also re-lock the locknut.

How much play is at the top of the shaft assembly when the locknut is tightened? On my camper, the clevis pin and pivot hole in the pedal were excessively worn. I ended up using a oil-less bushing in the pedal hole and a shouldered bolt in place of the clevis pin. You will have to pull the pedal assembly to make this repair.

If you do choose to remove the fascia to access the pedal assembly, remember that you won't need to disconnect any of the hydraulic lines to remove the pedal assembly, the lines have enough slack to move the brake and clutch master cylinders temporarily out of the way.

Good luck,
