Subject: '84 Tach upgrade THANKS
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

A message of thanks to all who responded to the recent messages about this upgrade. By using the various messages to make sense of each other, I was able to do the upgrade without too much trouble. I ran a green wire from the coil to the dash area by parallelling the main loom under the vehicle. I slipped the wire into the harness loops and was even able to string it over the fuel tank using a flexible-grabby-tool thing. After figuring out that I had to combine a couple of the original wires, it works great. Even the little clock and light work. About the only complaint is the overall condition of the cluster, a little more brittle than the one in my '84. However, now I have spare LEDs and other bits, and the new cluster came with a fog light switch.

If nothng else, it'll be nice to be able to see what the rpms are during any repairs without hooking up my external tach tool.

Again thanks to all.
