I have an 85' and was expierencing the same exact thing. I went to change my idle stabilizer, noticed that I didn't even have one, installed the new one, and problems are all gone. The only thing left that I wonder about is after driving it for a period of time, either on the highway or in town it will idle high, at like 1900-2000...weird, it did that before I put the new idle stabilizer on too. But all other problems were gone, the slow loss of idle when cold, the fast drop to stall while driving and putting the clutch in (still while cold). At least all that are gone. Sooo, you might want to try that first. It's cheap ($15 at the busdepot), and simple to fix. have fun, Tracy 85'GL "Ripple" Scott Wilson <smorewhisky@YAHOO.COM> wrote:so i set the idle to about 1500 rpm, trying to get the thing to idle in the morning. when i start it up, it will start out about there, and then it slowly goes down and dies. once it is warm it will idle about 900, then when it is up to running temp, it will idle at 1500. anybody have any idea what the deal is? thanks in advance
