I am trying to recover some of the lost mpg I am seeing as a trade off to the added hp created by the Euro Digijet ECU I am using in my '85 stock 1.9l wbx. Simplest solution may be an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? This ECU is going to try its damnedest to fatten up the mixture to where it makes the power it is programmed for. It seems like something must be restricted so that it can not quit get there. I don't know what disconnecting the O2 sensor would do on this ECU. Right now it runs leaner at idle with it disconnected. I will try some tests with the O2 disconnected and the sensor wired to my digital voltmeter up front. I guess the AFM could be further tightened (I am 4 notches leaner than out of the box), but I hate to go much further from stock. I love the power of this ECU and would never go back, but miss the gas mileage. I have gone from 21-22 mpg on long trips to 18-19 mpg. Around town mileage is no worse, maybe a little better, about 16 mpg. I realize the mileage is a trade-off for the increased power (Ken was reporting 20%!), but how about something in between? Interesting that the mileage drop is also about 20%.
