John, I can aggree with you 100%, until I've seen this myself. I have been approched by several good technical mechanics that have Vanagons that are dead. They tell the same story: "Vanagon came in dead. I replaced the coil. Came back 3 months later, dead, again" My reply is check for Bosch platinum plugs, if so, replace the coil again, and replace the plug with factory original.
