Well, it *did* go all the way through the car, and we don't get to see the hole in the ground -- there's a woman out there somewhere who was in her house when a meteorite came through the roof and whacked her on the thigh -- made an awful bruise, but that's all. Pretty sure you can find a picture of the bruise, and maybe the meteorite too, on the web somewhere. Try snopes.com. It was a lot smaller than that one though, I believe. More to the point, it wouldn't be a NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day if it weren't real... david
