HI, I have an 85' GL. I wanted some of the camper features, and so I took out the middle seat, and installed a kitchenette. That was kind of a pain. Had to drill, cut, and figure out how to wire. Project still is about only 90% complete. I still have to get the sink working. All in all it made a nice project though. I also installed a weekender bed ( for a full queen size), and a rear roof shelf that me and my boyfriend made out of wood. I still am working on a way to put a table in, all nice and neat and folded down. Although, all this might be alot easier for you because you have a model to go by. hope this helps, Tracy 85' GL "Ripple" Michael Brown <m_brown@COX.NET> wrote:Long time archive reader, first time poster here. After a couple years of having aircooled buses, I finally made to move to an 85 vanagon - heat :-). I have an 81 westy that I was thinking of swapping the interior to the 85 (passenger). I know the pop-up would be some work if I do it, but will the interior be pretty simple to swap? I think I read somewhere that the 85 has a larger sliding door opening, but it doesn' t look like it would affect the fitting of the interior. Any suggetions or thoughts of wisdom would be grateful.
Thanks, Mike |
